The puddles in downtown Orlando? They’re lovely, dark and deep, and we have miles to go before the rain sleeps. This week’s weather has afforded us time to be contemplative and just a touch melancholic. When we weren’t dreamily gazing out the window into the middle distance, we were poking around these links:
A Weather.com slideshow (yes, I was trying to see when when our stint as Seattle South would end) on haunting abandoned churches. And all I thought was: SOMEONE HAVE A WEDDING IN ONE OF THESE AND SEND US THE PICTURES.
The Shivers’ song “Beauty” is now my top pick–indie or otherwise–for wedding first dance song. I knew it, forgot it, and remembered it again this week. For shame.
Reading about the return of Vogue editor Phoebe de Croisset’s acute lymphoblastic leukemia led us to the photos of her wedding in Mykonos; this image, of Phoebe and her sisters, is pitch perfect. Her blog is called “Silver Linings, Lost and Found,” and we’re going to follow her (fashionable, measured, well-written) journey back to good health.
And finally, the raw, real, and really hopeful answer to this Quora question: “What does it feel like to cancel your wedding?” Sometimes the only answer to how? is through; I’m going to post the entire answer here, just in case one of our readers needs help getting to the other side.
