We know that wedding guests love throwing down to “Single Ladies” and “I Gotta Feeling,” but we also gotta feeling that guests like to mix it up with some different beats. We’ve dug into the archives to highlight some nontraditional, underplayed, get-them-all-dancing-songs. As in I-haven’t-heard-this-in-forever-but-I-love-this-song-and-so-now-I’m-going-to-crazy-dance-with-my-nearest-and-dearest songs. Right Said Fred was played all the time–in 1992. Maybe you forgot just how awesome it is, so it’s our pleasure to remind you.
This list is a starting point for what we hope will be a much larger compilation, that can be easily tailored to your guests’ demographic and tastes. Not to displace Gangnam Style and the Electric Slide. (OK, yes. Displacing those two songs in the pantheon of wedding hits is exactly what we want to accomplish.)

Here at Bridebird, music is crucial to our very essence. What I would obsess over at my wedding? The playlist. (Seriously; a likeminded friend just assembled 8 hours of music to play at his recent wedding, with different playlists at the ready in case people were bored, or sleepy, or pumped drunk.) In that spirit, we are thrilled to offer occasional playlists, inspired by a particular theme or feeling or pop cultural moment, that you can purchase over at Amazon. Our only request? To please purchase the music legally (disclosure: all of the above are affiliate links); stealing, just like a crappy DJ, is poor form. And we know, we know; we left something out/included a dumb song/generally have strange musical taste. Tell us all about it in the comments!
