In my opinion, IKEA is a universal beloved, like french fries or clean sheets or shiny hair. In fact, my husband and I liked our first set of FÖRNUFT flatware so much that we used it for 12 years, then retired it for the LARD style. We eat on IKEA china, and mix in lots of hearty IKEA white serving bowls with my great-grandmother’s delicate Swiss dishes. I’m an IKEA believer, especially because now that I have children, I can replace a broken 365+ plate with another off the rack. White dishes, like white towels, never go out of style, which is why you can break up all the snow with these happy blue balloon plates, or something else colorful and/or special that you have in your china cabinet.
This list is not meant to be exhaustive; we didn’t round up any daily juice and water glasses (although there are two choices of wine glass…ahem), nor did we select placemats or napkins. This palette is so clean that you could insert just about any textile for major impact, then swap it out seasonally or when you get bored.

Anna says: our roundups are intended to be both inspirational and aspirational. Some objects are cheap and accessible, while others are dreamier in both price and scope. Now that registries have been liberated from the tyranny of the scan gun and released into the ether of internet possibilities, you can combine 734 stores into one curated list. Not to mention that you might already own enough hand towels and soup spoons for a small hotel. We suggest you cherrypick the things that appeal to you, ignore the ones that don’t, and share them in equal measure with our already Pinterested style boards.
